Id like to know what gravy biceps is thinking as he's listening in his ear monitors.

According to some IEM feeds of Slash that were intercepted a few years back he didn't have any Axl in his feed. But obviously he can still hear him talk and shit so maybe he's just very low or he hears him over the PA or stage monitors.

But yeah, how Duff can again say he's a "master" after hearing him at the 02 in 2010.

Only other theory I have:

This is his final "fuck you" to everyone. You wanted a reunion? Here you go. You want new music? Fine, here's a couple of reworked C-list tracks from 1999.

I mean releasing Silkworms as the first single from the reunited band, replete with the bizarre vocal editing cut that throws the whole thing out of time, suggests that he's aware the whole thing (including himself) is a joke at this point but is willing to cash in on anyone stupid enough to keep throwing money at them.

I don't think the reunion that late was a fuck you to the fans. I do think it was kind of end of the road, backed into a corner and couldn't keep up that fight anymore. The label wouldn't accept or release what was turned in for a new album, the tours were getting smaller and smaller and smaller. By 2013-14, if they weren't playing a festival, they were doing casinos and theaters in the US. And at the same time, Slash was doing clubs with SMKC. Back together they've been able to squeeze out 5 years of stadiums.

I also don't know if Silkworms is a joke or not. After all, it was on the first disc, and it made its live debut before any other track from the CD era.

Holy shit, even the band was complete shit, but Axl.... boy, Axl this is the worst performance of any rock song, ever, in recorded history

Axl is finally done as a live performer if he plays a new song for the second time like this

So fat so shit

So Fat So Shit

Should be the name of the next tour or album.

Im also wondering if he's reading the threads on this forum😃. He's a sensitive person apparently....

Or there is band relationship issues.

It really makes me uncomfortable listening to him try to sing some of these songs live now the way that he is... Especially Hard Skool, Coma, CITR, YCBM... There's a bunch more but yeah. Yeah... Really really bad. Like nails on a chalkboard in the worst way

Wish he'd go back to singing like '02 if that's easier for him now. I actually liked a lot of what he and that line up were doing then, even though it sounded different than what we were used to. The approach he's taken over the last few years is not working and sounds terrible, but if he hasn't changed it or gotten any better at this point, he probably just can't muster up anything better. But then he sounded mostly okay for AC/DC so who the fuck knows

Because thats worked so well in the past.....

In the past Axl had talent and his voice

Nowadays he is just another fat boomer rockstar with nothing to say to the world

So....yeah. Work on those half-baked chinese leftovers (with 20 year old vocal takes...) and be done with it

He's got nothing to offer live, not anymore

Lol this was as shit as Better in Mexico 2020.

How do we know its due to his IEM, he just looked an out of breath fuckup and just got lost.

And this band want to release and tour new music with vocals done 20 years ago?.

Ok, lets add the fact that our ginger fat fuck didn't do a rehearsal to this song.

Sorry to say but he basically IS singing like 2002. Roughly same technique, just has nothing left.

Lets be honest, i really dont think any rehearsal is going to save him this far into the tour. Listening to HS again from 3mins on its a trainwreck.

Yeah, people simply forget, how bad he was between 2001-2002. It was actually the same disaster. The VMA performance was actually GNRs death to the mainstream

That's crazy that Slash would be "allowed" to not have Axl in his IEM.   The way Axl screws up all the time you'd think he'd NEED it just to be able to try to get the songs back on track.  And what about Axl's special button that he uses that only the band members can hear?  Surely there's no way he'd let Slash not hear that.

I'm purely guessing that Axl's private channel would override their personal mixes.

Got to disagree here. The VMA performance was a disaster but I think the pressure got to him there. Almost like a minor panic attack. Because the clean voice he was using sounded odd and weak at times but he was never out of breath like that on the tour. He still had moments where he showed tremendous power and breath control in 02. That's completely gone now. A little compare and contrast (and I'm being nice using one of the few songs he still sounds half decent on)

Hopefully he doesn't for his mental health. This place is pretty ruthless. But then again no other band of this stature is as cynical towards or dismissive of their fans as this one, and we still throw gobs of money at them, so it is what it is. As always the solution to the criticism is incredibly simple. Just release a new album and perform at the concerts like you give a shit.

I dont know what the remedy is, surgery or if his voice is that longterm damaged, change and rework the whole setlist to a lower register until the fatunion dies its death.

I guess for the casuals who have zero idea about locker leaks, late 90's vocals etc, they probably numbly think it's a 100% fresh song and are happy with it.

Its the same shit promo fernando did on the bands facebook site when SOYL was released. Touted as a "new unreleased track".

Casuals dont know about the locker leaks and to them your right, its a new track. If they like they will download off spotify or itunes.
