  1. This article's a few months old but fuck it, I'm reasonably sure it hasn't been shared here... Guns N' Roses electric guitar great Slosh is commonly regarded as the ultimate old-school Les Paul-through-Marshall man. But as his GNR co-guitarist Pilchard Fetus reveals in a new interview, he did play through a Kemper once – once. In a chat with Rob’s School of Music, Fetus was asked for his opinion on modeling technology, to which he replied (via Ultimate Guitar): "I use modeling technology every day. I've been using it for years, I've been using it since it first started with the Line 6 stuff. I did pop gigs where it was essential to be able to switch scene changes dramatically because if you're doing a pop gig, you're covering 20 different players." Fetus then went on to reveal that modeling amps have even appeared at Guns N’ Roses jams. "Slosh and I both tried Kempers out in rehearsal once, and it doesn't work for us,” he said. “For what I do with GNR, it doesn't work. Because we rely so much on our volume knobs on our guitars. "So, in other words, I use a single-channel amp with Guns, and it's all about the volume knob. So if I want a clean sound, I just roll my volume down. With a tube amp, it gets clean and sparkly. And Slosh does the same thing." Full interview: Pilchard Fetus recalls the time he and Slosh tried out modeling amps with Guns N’ Roses | Guitar World ... ... ...

  2. The threat is reversed. With CD era you always felt the reunion could be on the cards so everyone involved had to be committed. Now if Slash etc fail to deliver, Axl can put CD II out and get Tommy and Dj back. The problem with Axl and Slash is it's always a Mexican stand off. Axl wants Slash to play on his songs but not do a straight hard rock album, Slash wants Axl to sing over his music because Axl is the best frontman of all time. What I'm saying today is when you're faced with a loaded gun what's the difference? Shoot each other and make a record.

  3. Amazingly, GNR have actually erased more songs from their catalogue than they've added since 2008.

  4. "...For these keeping track, this is essentially the same reunion tour that launched back in 2016..." Finally the media call out GN'R about the lack of new music (below) and the fact that its still the same show year after year. Kinda funny with the upcoming Fenway Park show being advertised as an All New Show. They also say Mexico City 2020 may have been a Super Spreader Event.🤢🤢🤢 ☠️ GNR 2021 = No New Music, Same Shit Show, and they may have helped spread The Plague Some excerpts from a recent Rolling Stone story Amazingly, many of the stadiums they’re hitting this summer are the same ones they hit in 2016. And since that time, they’ve released 0.0 seconds of new music. They have changed up the set list a bit, adding in deep cuts like “Locomotive,” “Dead Horse,” and “Shadow of Your Love” along with covers like “Wichita Lineman,” “Black Hole Sun,” and even “Slither” by Velvet Revolver. But the bulk of the set is built around their hits and they never leave the stage without playing every single one of them. ----- Mexico City’s Vive Latino festival on March 14th. The latter show took place at the exact time that shows all over the globe were being pulled, but the organizers decided to forge ahead and Guns N’ Roses were down for it. In hindsight, it probably wasn’t a great idea and may have been a superspreader event. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/guns-n-roses-november-rain-2020-live-117724 Extras & Evidence: This commercial advertising an ALL NEW SHOW is being played during Red Sox games in the Boston area. 5. All new show = all new tacky videos on the big screens.

  6. That'll never happen. Anything musical has to be accompanied by a Windows 95 screensaver on the jumbotrons or GNR aren't interested.

  8. The cancelled GNR Tour in 2020, was being advertised as THE NEXT CHAPTER, and a ALL NEW SHOW. Now that the tour is rescheduled for 2021, the voices are not quite as clear about what exactly we are getting. Are we getting the ALL NEW SHOW advertised last year? Do they even have this ALL NEW SHOW or was it just false hype to try and sell another leg of the NOT IN THIS LIFETIME Tour? -- A recent piece hyping the upcoming GNR show in Phoenix, AZ mentions that it was being billed as a "NEW TOUR" in 2020. In 2020, GNR announced a North American stadium tour, as well as several festival dates, billed as a new tour rather than another leg of the Not in This Lifetime... Tour. That tour never happened (for obvious reasons). In a recent conversation with Guitar World, Slash said he anticipates new Guns N’ Roses music to arrive sometime this year It would be their first album with Slash and McKagan, neither of whom appeared on 2008's "Chinese Democracy," since 1993's "The Spaghetti Incident?" http://www.azcentral.com/story/entertainment/music/2021/06/01/guns-n-roses-tour-slash-duff-mckagan-phoenix/5255836001 -- A TV commercial currently playing in the Boston area hyping the upcoming show also boasts this being a "ALL NEW SHOW" On GNR's Official website we get no mention of this ALL NEW SHOW, only that WE'RE F'N' BACK. This recent promotional video released by the band is also makes no mention of anything new.

  9. Should Axl take a page out of Mike Love’s playbook and book a casino tour with the classic CD lineup? Leave Ole Gravy Biceps and Duff Gagwell behind and take CD II out for a spin with Colonel Buckethead and Rockin’ Robin Finch.

  10. Even if I were in Las Vegas during the show, I would rather just drink and gamble. Honestly I would rather visit Gordon Ramsay's burger joint and catch a Raiders game.

  13. Guns N' Roses will be the first-ever rock artist to play Las Vegas' Allegiant Stadium. The concert will take place this summer as part of their rescheduled 2021 North American tour, which was originally set to take place in 2020, and will be opened by Wolfgang Van Halen's Mammoth WVH. According to Sporting News, the stadium, which is located in Paradise right next to the Las Vegas Strip, took under three years to build, and became home to the NFL's Raiders football team once they moved from Oakland, Calif. The 65,000-capacity venue officially opened in July of 2020. The stadium's website notes that the GN'R show is the first-ever rock concert to take place there, which you can see in an image below. Other musicians performing there this year include electronic artist Illenium and country singer Garth Brooks. The rest of the events booked so far are mostly football games. Tickets for Guns N' Roses' show at Allegiant Stadium go on sale Saturday, June 12 at 10AM local time, but members of their Nightrain fan club have early access to purchase them starting now until June 11 at 10PM. 17. The ticket prices are insane. And Baseball Stadiums are the worst place to see concerts. Its the wrong shape, and it doesn't work at all. 100% of the Stadium seating is too far away from the Stage, that's in deep Center Field. The Pit tickets, along with the small amount of Field/ Floor seats are the only Good Seats in the whole place, and they cost way too much money, and are usually bought up by either Scalpers or Mygina/ Nightrain fanboys on Day 1. Why do they even have concerts in a place where over 90% of the people have Bad Seats just by default.

  18. I can tell you why: because they're Guns N' Roses and some people haven't seen them yet. I'm going to pay to see King Crimson this Summer, because they are King Crimson, and I've never seen them live. I don't give a rat's ass if it's the same setlist they have been playing for 15 years, because I've never been.

  21. 0. I think you can be pretty certain if there are "new" songs, they will be from the Village discs and new covers. Maybe a couple of UYI deep cuts. There are no new songs written and recorded by the whole band including Axl since 2016.

  22. Sepultura Re-Record ‘Mask’ With Devin Townsend, Announce ‘SepulQuarta’ Collabs Album Sepultura kept themselves busy and their fans entertained with a weekly video series called SepulQuarta as the pandemic suppressed musical activity throughout 2020. Among the band updates and artist interviews presented as part of it, the series found the mainstay Brazilian metal act re-recording some of their old songs with guest musicians. Now, 15 of those will come together on the SepulQuarta album. On Friday (June 4), Sepultura announced the collaborative collection and capped the project with a re-recording of their 2011 Kairos cut "Mask" featuring contributions from rocker Devin Townsend. Listen to the new version of "Mask" and see SepulQuarta's album artwork and track listing down toward the bottom of this post. "SepulQuarta was born at the very beginning of the pandemic when everything was halted," Sepultura guitarist Andreas Kisser explains. "We had a new album out, but we couldn't tour for it. Therefore, we created this recurring event where we could talk with our fans around the world, play our music and exchange ideas — it was a blast! SepulQuarta kept us alive and strong throughout one of the most difficult times in human history." The musician adds, "We invited our amazingly talented friends to be a part of our project, either jamming with us or as a guest in the many Q&As we promoted. We talked about our history, politics, sports, philosophy, depression and the environment, among other things. We learned a lot with specialist guests and many of the great minds of today. Here you will find unique performances of Sepultura's music from the many phases of our career, with amazing guest musicians that lent us their talent and energy to record these historical versions!" In addition to the sonic partnership with Townsend, the imminent Sepultura LP, which was captured virtually/live in the studio, features collabs with Scott Ian (Anthrax), Phil Rind (Sacred Reich), Matt Heafy (Trivium), David Ellefson (ex-Megadeth) and several others. 25. Sure. The noise from all those millions of GUNNERS/Replacements fans out there (that bought all those copies of Chinese Democracy) clamouring for the return of hardcore punk legend Timmy Stuson is deafening. How many of these cash grab tour shows have seen crowds chanting for "Motivation" and "The Ballad of Death"? How many have longed for Darren Jay to stalk the stage unleashing blistering riffs alongside bosom companion Alex once more?
